Queensland - The Tropics & Outback combined
Day One
Fly into Townsville and transfer to accommodation. Walk along the beach and through parkland into the centre of Townsville (2 hrs, easy).
Accommodation: Townsville, tropical resort
Day Two
Visit Reef HQ - the worlds largest living reef aquarium. Ferry to Magnetic Island. Afternoon walk to high vantage point overlooking the island (2-3 hours, graded moderate), ending up at a delightful swimming beach.

Day Three
Full day walk including historic forts, koala colonies, secluded picture-postcard bays (3-4 hrs actual walking time, lots of time for swimming and relaxing on the beach)

Day Four
Ferry off the island. Drive to a working outback cattle station (ranch) for a tour, talk, billy tea and damper / BBQ lunch. Drive to Charters Towers - an outback township about 2hrs from Townsville. Afternoon walking tour of historic township with an historian (1 hr, easy)

Day Five
Drive to Cardwell. Ferry over to Hinchinbrook Island (takes around 1 hr). Short walk to nearby beach (1 hr, easy).
Accommodation: Hinchinbrook Island, wilderness tree-top cabins, 2 nights
Day Six
Cruise through mangrove swamps to Missionary Bay. Spectacular views of Mt Bowen, the highest peak on Hinchinbrook. Walk to the Black Sand Beach (1 hr return, easy). Cruise to Macushla Cove then walk through tropical rainforests and along pristine beaches back to the resort (2-3 hrs, easy).

Day Seven
Ferry off the island. Drive to Mission Beach (1 hr)
Rainforest walk around Mission Beach (2 hrs, easy). Good chance of spotting the endangered Cassowary. Drive to Cairns. Visit the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Accommodation: Cairns, tropical resort, 2 nights
Day Eight
Full day cruise to Michaelmas Cay on the Great Barrier Reef including talk by marine biologist, snorkelling instruction, snorkel tours, semi-submersible tours (like a glass bottom boat / submarine). Michaelmas Cay is an important bird-breeding ground and you can go ashore for short walks and wildlife viewing. On the way back enjoy champagne whilst listening to a string quartet.

Day Nine
Visit Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park - museum, dance theatre with live performances all day, cultural village where you can learn to play the didgeridoo and throw boomerangs and spears. After an indigenous foods luncheon, drive to Mossman Gorge. 2-3 hr walk with local Aboriginal guide - learn about indigenous foods and lifestyles. Drive to the Daintree. Evening spotlighting walk.

Day Ten
Crocodile spotting cruise on the Cooper River. Walk around the Cape Tribulation area (2hrs, easy). Afternoon mangrove boardwalk (1.5hrs, easy) and/or visits to the Daintree Icecream Company for some local delicacies and/or the Cow Bay Hotel a typical Aussie pub renowned for its extensive use of local tropical timbers.

Day Eleven
Drive to Cairns airport (3 hrs) for flight out.
The South - Mountains, beaches, wildlife & Aboriginal culture
Day One
Arrive in Sydney. Sydney city sights walk, including the Harbour Bridge, Opera House, The Rocks area and Botanical Gardens.
Accommodation: Sydney Hotel in the Rocks area.
Day Two
Drive to the Blue Mountains. Walks: Govetts Leap / Pulpit Rock one way (2 hrs) & Scenic Railway and walk on forest floor. View 3 Sisters.
Accommodation: Leura, historic inn, 2 nights
Day Three
Walk: Waterfall Valley / Mid Cliff track / Wentworth Falls / Undercliff track (4-5 hrs).
Accommodation: As for last night
Day Four
Drive to Sydney airport. Fly to Melbourne. Drive to Queenscliff. Horse drawn coach tour of Queenscliff historic sites.

Day Five
Drive down Great Ocean Road. Walks: Koori Culture Walk / Point Addis and Split Point Lighthouse. Kangaroo & koala viewing in the wild.
Accommodation: Apollo Bay region, remote coastal inn, 2 nights.
Day Six
Walks: Erskine Falls & Phantom Falls (or free time in Lorne).

Day Seven
Travel down the Great Ocean Road with walks along the way including Carrisbrook Falls, Melba Gully, 12 Apostles & Loch Ard Gorge / Blowhole / Thunder Cave / Broken Head. Evening walk/visit to Little Penguin colony.

Day Eight
Drive to Port Fairy via London Bridge & Tower Hill. Walk: The Crags. Evening mutton bird viewing.

Day Nine
Drive to Halls Gap. Walk: Wonderland circuit. Afternoon winery visit. Evening Stories/Culture Aboriginal visit

Day Ten
Walks: The Balconies & Jaws of Death, McKenzie Falls. Visit Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Centre for the Dreaming Theatre and bush tucker tasting. Optional Mt Rosea walk.

Drive to northern Grampians stopping at Aboriginal shelters and cave paintings en route. Walk: Hollow Mountain / Mt Stapylton / Mt Zero.

The Grampians in Western Victoria
The Ultimate Australia Walk
Day 1
Half day walk showcasing Sydney - the historic Rocks area (site of Australia's first settlement), the famous Harbour Bridge, Opera House, Circular Quay. Dinner at an Aboriginal Restaurant.
Day 2
Morning visit to the Sydney Zoo. Travel by ferry across Sydney Harbour then we seek out Australian animals. Have your picture taken holding a koala! Free afternoon to explore other facets of Sydney – guides will assist with advice and accompany clients as required.
Day 3
Walk in the Blue Mountains featuring a cliff top track with many panoramic lookouts over the valley below. Unique rock formations including the famous Three Sisters - learn the Aboriginal legend of their creation. Finish the walk with a ride on Sceniscender - a huge gondola that rides high over the World Heritage area.
Day 4
Day walk in the Blue Mountains. Descend into the depths of the "Grand Canyon" and walk through rainforest, past cascading waterfalls then along cliff tops overlooking the wilderness Grose Valley. Tremendous variety!
Day 5
Fly to Melbourne for a city highlights walk including Chinatown, the Yarra River, Botanic Gardens and city malls.
Day 6
Visit an Aboriginal Cultural centre. Learn about Aboriginal culture and participate in a choice of activities including boomerang throwing, boomerang painting, didgeridoo playing, dancing etc. Travel along the Great Ocean Road for an Aboriginal Walk through colourful - heathlands - on the walk we'll learn about the indigenous way of life, how they used the various plants and animals in the environment etc.
Day 7
Continue along Great Ocean Road stopping for a rainforest walk, the 12 Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge walk. Optional helicopter flight is possible today.
Day 8
Visit Tower Hill - Walk through this volcanic crater in search of native wildlife. Excellent chance of spotting koalas, kangaroos, emus and colourful parrots. Travel to the Grampians. Afternoon valley walk followed by a winery visit.
Day 9
Day walk in the Grampians National Park. Fascinating rock formations like the Grand Canyon, Venus Baths, Elephants Hide, Echo Cave, Cool Chamber.
Day 10
Visit wineries in the Great Western area. Fly to Tasmania and travel to Cradle Valley
Day 11
Day walk featuring Cradle Mountain (base) and several beautiful alpine tarns.
Day 12
Half day walk around picturesque Lake Dove. Explore the historic site at Waldheim and walk in an ancient King Billy Pine forest
Day 13
Fly to Brisbane
Day 14
Travel to Lamington National Park. Afternoon walk featuring scenic lookouts and a waterfall. Staying at O'Reilly's Guesthouse.
Day 15
Full day walk in the Lamington National Park.
Day 16
Day walk along the Border Track from O'Reilly's Guesthouse to Binna Burra. Overnight at Binna Burra.
Day 17
Morning walk at Binna Burra. Travel back to Brisbane
Day 18
Fly to Ayers Rock Resort. Afternoon walk at Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). Champagne sunset viewing at Kata Tjuta.
Day 19
Sunrise breakfast at Uluru. Liru walk with Aboriginal guide, conducted in Pitjantjatjara with a translator. Walk around base of Uluru. Time to explore the Uluru Kata Tjuta Visitor Centre.
Day 20
Travel to Kings Canyon. Walk Kings Canyon rim.
Day 21
Travel back to Ayers Rock Resort. Fly out of Ayers Rock Resort to Sydney.
