What our Walkers Say

Abel Tasman Track Reviews

"The whole trip ran like a well-oiled machine, all the transfers, including the fabulous water taxi, all made our experience so easy, so much fun. The weather was amazing, the accommodation was great, food (including packed lunches) was sensational. Loved every minute of the holiday."

- Andrew MCM, March 2025

All we had to think about was walking. Eat, sleep, walk, repeat with confidence. Route well chosen and matched to tide timetables.

Fiordland Classic Walks:

Milford, Hollyford, Routeburn & Kepler Tracks

6 days from $6,195. Group Guided.

Four World-Renowned Walks on one Epic Trip

New Luxury Trip

Venture into some of the most remote and untouched parts of New Zealand to hike on four iconic tracks.

Each walk offers a different side of Fiordland, from the snow-capped mountains of the Routeburn Track to the remote landscape of the Hollyford Track. Explore dense beech forest on the Kepler track and experience the "finest walk in the world" on the Milford Track.

Trail Details

The walks on this trip are graded moderate and contain short, steep hill sections.

It’s well worth investing some time and effort in preparing for your walking holiday. Across all walks, the average daily distance is 10km. The tracks are almost all quite flat and in very good or reasonable condition, with only the Routeburn a bit rockier underfoot.

Some hill training is worth doing, as the Routeburn track has some significant elevation gain.

What Our Travellers Say About Their New Zealand Walking Experience

The whole walk was the best part! And the team at Auswalk were fabulous. Always available and really helpful when we needed them.

Lily S

The walk was by far the highlight of my autumn trip to Japan. The trail itself is absolutely gorgeous in late autumn with the maple leaves turning red and behind the scenes, Auswalk provided everything I needed, including some lovely choices of accommodation, to enjoy this amazing experience.

Cody R

This trek was amazing, and accommodation provided an opportunity to have a genuine traditional Japanese experience away from the busyness of a modern city.

Michael B

We have just walked the Queen Charlotte track in New Zealand arranged by Auswalks as a self-guided walk. The organisation was (as usual) very professional and the notes excellent. All aspects from initial booking to on track arrangements flowed smoothly. Highly recommend both this company and the Queen Charlotte walk which is spectacular

gdixonrb

The Abel Tasman hike was fabulous. AusWalk organised wonderful accomodation - both lodges were excellent and very comfortable. The food provided was, as is characteristic of AuaWalks, truly delicious and excellent. The hike itself was so enjoyable - made even better because we had great accom and food provided. The hiking was incredibly scenic, the paths well maintained and the water taxi was a unique experience. We did the half day kayak and I would recommend this to everyone. It was superb. A great holiday for the whole family.
