AUSWALK COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES
Many of our accommodations and other suppliers are requiring that guests be vaccinated. Please let us know before booking (or as soon as you can) if you intend on not being vaccinated as this may change some of the trip logistics.
The safety of you and our staff is and has always been our primary concern. We are constantly updating our procedures and response to Covid-19 based on the latest advice to ensure you have a great and safe experience.
All our passengers will be sent a COVID questionnaire 7 days before departure. We also require all guests and staff to ‘check-in’ using the relevant government app depending on the location of the walk. We also require staff and passengers to ‘check-in’ at any premise we attend during the trip.
COVID SAFE PLAN
Our staff is trained in our Covid safe plan which outlines measures taken should anyone (guest or staff) show any COVID symptoms.
Every trip has been reviewed to ensure health and safety standards are met. All leaders and crew have been trained in COVID-19 safe protocols, including hygiene, sanitation, health screening and crisis management.
On arrival for the walk departure, Company staff will carry out mandatory temperature testing of all guests and staff participating in the walk, including bus drivers.
A face mask will be issued to all guests and staff for mandatory use while travelling in vehicles.
Guides will provide a pre-departure COVID-19 safety briefing, including trip protocols and guest and staff responsibilities to ensure everyone’s safety.
In the event that a passenger or staff member is symptomatic the following will occur:
– Immediate isolation of the COVID-19 symptomatic person(s) from the group.
– Liaison with local medical authorities.
– Guests, guides or staff members with symptoms confirmed to be consistent with COVID-19 will be evacuated from the trip so they can receive a medical review from a qualified health professional.
Compliance with the local authority in relation to limitations on maximum group size.
All drivers and passengers, including guides, must wear a face mask when travelling in vehicles.
To ensure the safety of our staff and passengers, our staff is routinely monitored:
All staff who show symptoms will be requested to not attend the workplace until they undergo a COVID-19 test and are cleared by a qualified health professional to return to the workplace.
All guides will be trained in our COVID-19 operational response plan in the event that a guest, guide or staff member presents with coronavirus-like symptoms during a trip.
INSURANCE COVER FOR COVID-19
Travel insurance providers’ policies vary. Please check with your individual provider for more information.
We understand that this is a difficult time and that plans may change due to COVID-19. That’s why, when you book with us you have the flexibility to change your travel plans if your trip is affected by COVID-19 – with the assurance that you’ll have options to re-book when it suits you. You can pick new travel dates or an entirely different trip. If your trip is cancelled before departure, you can transfer your payment and deposit to another available trip or hold your payment with us for up to 4 years with no change fees.
