OVERVIEW
OVERVIEW
The Blue Mountains, only 90 minutes from Sydney, is the most accessible World Heritage-listed wilderness area in Australia. The hike travels across the plateau, via the valley floor and through canyons and across waterways. It begins in Blackheath and finds its way via Katoomba and onto Leura, and includes some of the best tracks in the Mountains. Be astonished by the sheer volume of incredible one-of-a kind vistas that the Blue Mountains is famous for.
The descents into the valley are well worth the effort, walking up close to nature, allowing you to literally feel and smell the forest. The valley and canyon sections of the track take you via waterfalls and waterways and there is a high chance of spotting the elusive Lyrebird as you walk.
Please note: We offer our Blue Mountains walks all year round. November to March are the warmest months however they also tend to have the highest rainfall with January and February being the most affected. Track closures are common after periods of heavy rain. We will do our best to provide alternative walking options when possible.

We used Auswalks to plan our five-day self guided walking vacation in the Blue Mountains. They were easy to work with, provided options, and offered clear directions. We wanted a hiking experience that did not require use to rent a car and gave us valuable advice that made that possible. The hikes, lodging, and restaurants were superb. When hiking again in Australia we would certainly use Auswalks again.

We had a marvelous experience walking the beautiful Blue Mountains. We couldn’t have done it without the support of Auswalks. The directions were clear and the walking included diverse ecosystems. The hotels and restaurants were amazing. What we liked about the Blue Mountain walk was that we didn’t need to rent a car.

My first Auswalk holiday in the Blue Mountains was a fantastic experience from exploring the website, to booking, to the holiday itself. Auswalk made the whole process easy and enjoyable. The staff are knowledge, friendly and responsive. I’m already looking forward to my next Auswalk holiday.

We have just completed the 5 day self guided walk with Auswalk in the Blue Mountains and it was a truly memorable experience being a great mix of walking, landscapes, scenery, lovely accommodation, meals and hospitality. It was only five days walking and although generally not long days, there was a good mix of some challenging sections, with moderate and easy ones. Auswalk were very helpful through the whole process including accommodating our late change of dates. Cheers, Rob & Kaye Thorpe, Malua Bay.

The walk was diverse and moderately challenging. I would have preferred the luxe version, but didn’t feel that I was offered it- even though I asked for accomodation upgrade. Having said that, the BnBs were quaint. The walking notes were confusing as there were track closures due to fire/erosion damage etc. and the changes were on a separate sheet. We had 2 dinners included but on previous trips they were all included. Thanks again for a lovely trip. Samantha and Mark
