Entire trip went extremely well. Foods were of excellent quality too.
OverviewOverview
Everest Base Camp is one of the great trekking objectives of the world, and this 14-day group-guided trek follows the iconic route in full, from the helicopter flight to Lukla to the moment Everest comes into view for the first time above Namche Bazaar. The trail tracks along raging rivers and dramatic escarpments, past the holiest monastery at Tengboche with its extraordinary 360-degree panorama of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and the surrounding massifs, and up through the barren, otherworldly terrain of the upper Khumbu to Everest Base Camp itself.
The high point of the trek, in every sense, is the pre-dawn ascent of Kala Patthar at 5,644 metres, timed to catch sunrise casting golden light across the Himalayas. The views of Everest from the summit are the finest on the entire route and a moment that stays with trekkers long after they return home. The shared experience of reaching Base Camp and summiting Kala Patthar with fellow trekkers adds a dimension to the journey that is difficult to replicate on a solo walk.
The journey begins and ends with a helicopter flight, avoiding the weather-dependent fixed-wing flights to Lukla and saving considerable time and effort on the descent. Three acclimatisation days are built into the itinerary to ensure a safe and rewarding ascent, with a contingency day in Kathmandu protecting against any weather delays in the mountains. Four nights in the 4-star Hotel Mulberry in Kathmandu bookend the trek, with welcome and farewell dinners included.
