Upon arriving in Lenno, take the time to explore the stunning gardens of Villa Balbianello, once the residence of a Milanese Industrialist and avid adventurer (entrance ticket not provided). We highly recommend you book these tickets on line to avoid the queues. Depending on your arrival time, you might opt for a leisurely walk or a refreshing swim at the small pebble beach in Lenno by the lake.

Your day will begin with a panoramic boat transfer (30 minutes) to the Bellagio Peninsula. Revered as “the pearl of Lario” and described as “one of the most voluptuous sites of Italy” by composer Gabriel Fauré, Bellagio awaits your arrival. Upon reaching the charming village of Pescallo, you’ll traverse the park of Villa Giulia before ascending to Perlo. Your return journey to Bellagio includes a stroll through the exquisite gardens of Villa Melzi (entrance ticket not included). Finally, a boat transfer (30 minutes) will take you back to Lenno.

Today’s itinerary includes a boat transfer (30 minutes) to Bellano, situated on the eastern shore of the lake. Today’s adventure takes you on a delightful walk above the lake all the way to Varenna, a picturesque village exuding the essence of “dolce vita”. Your journey begins with a panoramic trail from Bellano, leading you to the majestic castle of Vézio (entrance ticket not provided). Upon arrival in Varenna, you’ll be greeted by its charming streets and colourful hillside houses. Whilst here, take the opportunity to explore the enchanting gardens of Villa Monastero, adorned with avenues of rhododendrons, wisteria, and grand magnolias, as well as the gardens of Villa Cipressi (entrance ticket not included). Enjoy a boat transfer (40 minutes) from Varenna back to Lenno to conclude your day’s excursion.

Starting in the beautiful village of Lenno, your stroll will lead you along the hills of the Azalea Riviera, offering breathtaking vistas of the lake and the surrounding mountains. En route, you’ll encounter striking juxtapositions between olive groves, impeccably manicured gardens of luxurious villas, medieval villages, and exquisite Renaissance churches. Your journey concludes in Tremezzo at the renowned Villa Carlotta (entrance ticket not included). Famous for its magnificent garden, Villa Carlotta boasts a terraced garden adorned with Italian lemon trees and intricately carved boxwood, an English garden featuring expansive vistas, and an opulent interior adorned with neoclassical artworks. A boat transfer from Villa Carlotta to Lenno is included in this magical experience.

At the end of the day, you will embark on a journey to Lake Maggiore and arrive at the delightful lakeside towns of Cannero or Cannobio (approximately a 2-hour drive).

Commence your stroll from the quaint village of Cannero, following the ancient mule path to the medieval enclave of Carmine Superiore. Along the way, soak up magnificent vistas of Lake Maggiore and consider visiting the San Gottardo church. Continue your journey along the panoramic trail towards the villages of Molineggi and Solivo before reaching Cannobio. Please note that the boat transfer from Cannobio to Cannero (30 minutes) is not included and cannot be booked in advance.

Be transferred 30-45min to the beautiful Stresa, a charming lakeside town boasting traditional narrow streets and numerous small beaches perfect for swimming. Drop your luggage at your hotel before taking a boat transfer to the enchanting Borromean Islands. Explore Isola Bella with its splendid 17th-century palace, Isola Madre, renowned for its majestic palaces and botanical garden, and Isola dei Pescatori, a picturesque fishing village featuring quaint narrow streets and delightful eateries (entrance fees to the Borromean Islands are not included). Conclude your day with a boat transfer back to Stresa and spend the night in this scenic town.

Arriving in Stresa by boat is truly spectacular! This lakeside town holds a hidden treasure: a small 13th-century monastery, precariously perched atop a cliff, offering breathtaking views of the lake. Nestled into the rugged terrain, this remarkable site boasts stunning frescoes dating back to the 14th century. To fully appreciate its beauty and avoid crowds, we suggest arriving either early or late in the day. Conclude your visit with a boat transfer back to Stresa.

Enjoy sweeping vistas along this scenic hiking route that stretches from Stresa to Belgirate. This quaint village, nestled along an ancient Roman pathway adorned with historic chapels, is nestled along a quaint ridgeline and offers sweeping vistas. After your exploration, return to Stresa by boat or train.
