Welcome to Perros Guirec

As you arrive in Perros Guirec, you’ll be enchanted by its turquoise-hued beaches and stunning pink granite rocks that line the sandy shores. The town’s delightful charm is evident in its narrow streets adorned with granite houses featuring blue shutters, elegant Belle Époque villas, and inviting local shops. A stroll along the lively marina showcases the vibrant maritime spirit of the Pink Granite Coast, where fishing boats and seafood terraces create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Settle in for a relaxing evening, perhaps enjoying dinner near the bustling port.

Exploring the Pink Granite Coast to Ploumanac’h

Today, embark on a captivating hike along the famed GR34 trail, also known as the ‘Sentier des Douaniers,’ or the custom officers path, renowned for its breathtaking coastal views. Marvel at the whimsical pink granite formations shaped by nature’s hand as you make your way toward Ploumanac’h. This walk intertwines stunning scenery and historical intrigue, offering postcard-perfect views and plenty of opportunities to appreciate the natural beauty around you. Continue the walk back to Perros Guirec to unwind for the evening.

Ile Renote Peninsula

Begin the day with a morning transfer to Sainte Anne. Circle the stunning Renote Peninsula on well-marked trails, surrounded by the dramatic granite rocks. Follow the wild coastline along the GR34, taking in panoramic views and stopping at idyllic picnic spots along the way. The natural beauty of this untamed landscape is truly awe-inspiring. Finish the walk in Landrellec, before transferring back to Perros Guirec.

From Trebeurden to Lannion

A short morning transfer takes you to Trebeurden, where your hike begins along a spectacular coastal path. This path leads to hidden beaches, perfect for a refreshing dip or a moment of rest in the sun. Transitioning to a picturesque towpath, you’ll find yourself arriving in Lannion, with its half-timbered houses and charming streets. The day concludes with a comfortable stay in Lannion.

Ensure that you have comfortable, supportive footwear with adequate cushioning. If endurance is important, consider incorporating low-impact cross-training activities like swimming or cycling into your routine.

HOW TO GET THERE AND AWAY

ARRIVAL

Paris is the closest international airport with high speed train connections available with approximately 3-4.5 hrs travel time.

We can assist in arranging transfers to your hotel from Lannion or Guingamp.

Rennes Airport is also an option with limited international flights available.

 

DEPARTURE

Your walking holiday concludes in Lannion. After breakfast it is a short walk to the train station where you can continue your travels. 

7 Iles’ archipelago

Bird lovers may wish to take a return transfer back to Perros Guirec to take a boat excursion to the ‘7 Iles’ archipelago, France’s largest seabird reserve. Departing from the Nautical centre on Perros Guirec, embark on a 1h 45 min excursion exploring this remarkable natural site. The Sept-Îles form France’s largest seabird reserve. Over 25,000 pairs of seabirds from around 30 species find refuge here, including the northern Gannet (the only colony in France), Atlantic Puffin, Common Murres, European Shags and Razorbills. You also cruise along the pink granite coast in Ploumanac’h for another spectacular sighing of the infamous rock formations.

Please check the tide schedule every day before setting off. Tides are an important factor to consider before each hike to ensure safety and avoid the risk of being trapped by rapidly rising water, especially in areas with a high tidal range (significant difference between high and low tide). Some parts of the hike may not be accessible at high tide, and you will need to take the detour route indicated in the route notes.

INSURANCE

We require that you have adequate travel insurance against potential losses, damage or injury, including cancellation costs and loss of luggage.

For all trips that require international travel, you must have purchased travel insurance that also includes medical evacuation coverage.
