GENERAL INFO
The walk starts in Launceston at 8:00 am and finishes in Launceston late afternoon around 5:00 pm. We have graded the walking on this trip as easy. The walking on the first two days on the Bay of Fires walk is easy to moderate, with some beach walking. At Freycinet, there are some steep sections but overall the walking is easy to moderate. This trip operates with two professional guides ensuring that you have both a safe and enjoyable walking holiday. Guides are knowledgeable of the area, including flora and fauna and they can offer easier and harder walk options along the way.
Pre and post-tour accommodation: There are many good hotels in Launceston, however, we pick up and drop off from the Quality Hotel Colonial. The tour starts at 8.00 am at the Quality Hotel Colonial, 31 Elizabeth Street, Launceston. The trip ends at approximately 5:00 pm on the last day in Launceston where we can also drop you off at Launceston airport.

Good balance between Bay of Fires and Freycinet. Georgie and Marcus were organised, interesting and physically good guides. An extra day in Freycinet to climb Mount Freycinet would be a good addition. The scenery was beautiful along the coastline.

Thoroughly enjoyed all the walks. It was good that there were options if people needed. Walks were perfect length, challenging enough but not extreme. I liked the variety of beach, bush, rocks, paths, etc. Both Marcus and Georgie were excellent guides, friendly, professional, efficient. They went out of their way to make sure everyone was comfortable and happy. I would love to have them as guides on my next walk.

This was the most positive, confidence booster for me having recently been widowed. A kind & considerate group of hikers, great locations, accommodation & food. Georgie and Marcus excelled as our guides. All we had to do was walk & enjoy ourselves. Our guides Georgie & Marcus were outstanding, kind, considerate, awesome.

An excellent walk that matched the description given. Both accommodations places were very good, as was the food. The snacks provided for the walk were a great help in managing energy levels. Georgia and Marcus were excellent-always taking care of us and keeping us informed as to the schedule for the next day and on the day. Highly recommended.

End to end, this was an absolutely brilliant experience. From the moment we booked til the moment we were dropped back at the airport, Auswalk were faultless. Freycinet National Park was exquisite and Freycinet Lodge provided the perfect mini break we were after.Thank you for everything. We would unhesitatingly use Auswalk again!!

Attended the Bay of Fires and Freycinet 4 day tourAs a first timer on a walking tour this tour was challenging but certainly not unachievable. Without a guided tour I would never have attempted the walks we did – but with the help of our two spectacular guides, Hugh and Merel, I was able to experience some fantastic scenery, places only accessible by walking or by boat and was encouraged and supported the whole way.During the tough moment cresting some hills (that my more experienced walking group mates pretty much flew up #respect) Merel and Hugh were encouraging, NEVER made me feel like I was lagging behind or less than the others and really made the whole experience worthwhile. Not only that, Merel and Hugh are actually just great human beings, who are interested in getting to know people and interesting to talk to.The accommodation was really good, the food great and the group size perfect.I couldn’t recommend this highly enough.

My partner and I recently completed Australian Walking Holidays and were really pleased with all aspects of the trip. Pre-trip communication was really good, our three group leaders were wonderful, incredibly professional, efficient and friendly, the food and accommodation were fine, and the places we visited awe-inspiring. We will definitely use the company again and have no hesitation in recommending them.
