Surpassed expectations on everything from accomodation, meals, itinerary, communication and value for money… to our absolutely awesome walking guru/guide, Rick, who was very knowledgeable about the area’s walking trails, history, local stories, geology and the flora/fauna along our walking tour. We had a private tour for our group which was a special occasion as a birthday getaway for our very spry 80 years young Mum! We were given options on different tracks all along the trails to accomodate our fitness levels and make the most of the site seeing opportunities and avoid too many steep stairs! What an amazing experience, thanks to the experience and thoughtfulness of our guide Rick, and Auswalk for recommending the best options for our groups wishes. I’m looking at their website now for my next walking adventure with Auswalk Walking Holidays!

“My 2 sisters & I took Mum on a private group Blue Mountains Walk for her 80th Birthday – organised so perfectly by Sanyana- we had the most amazing time in this stunning place & most importantly, Mum had the best birthday & everyone made her feel so special!
We did 2 day walks with our guide Rick, who we cannot rate high enough!! He went above & beyond, was so knowledgeable, thoughtful, caring and accomodating – we all got along fabulously & had the best 2 days walk together!
Our accommodations were both very good – particularly The Greens! The abundant breakfasts full of homemade delights & we loved sitting around each afternoon relaxing in their very lovely well stocked sitting room chatting about our day!
Thank you to Sanyana for putting together such a wonderful trip & Rick for making our walks so enjoyable & memorable!”

My friends and I have just returned from a 3 day self-guided hike in the Blue Mountains, NSW. I was so impressed with AusWalk from the minute we booked to the end of our trip. No questions went unanswered prior to our hike. Directions were well set out, maps supplied and superb accommodation in BNBs. Included dinners and breakfasts were amazing as were the hike packs for snacks and lunches. Thank you AusWalk. You are a very professional company. We will definitely be returning customers.

Fabulous scenery, changing all the time. Day 1 was Grand canyon and the Grose river- lots of stairs
Day 2 we walked from Echoes to the ruined castle, well worth it but a very long day- not for a beginner.
Day 3 Wentworth Falls and undercliff track, again magnificent scenery
The hotel, Echoes and meals were outstanding, perfect after a day of walking. Highly recommend this walk

Denise and I have just finished the 6 night self guided walk through the stunning Blue Mountains. What wasn’t there to enjoy – great accommodation, breakfast every morning, lunch & snacks provided, dinners ……. and the self guided notes, maps & organisational support from Auswalk. And the sights and sounds of the majestic and spectacular mountains were on display. We even wondered if Auswalk even arranged the first 5 days of perfect weather (!) & even though the last walking day was wet it provided another lens through which to enjoy the mountains. It was a thoroughly enjoyable trip and the Auswalk Frequent Walker points we earned will be used ….. Cape to Cape walk awaits us.

Auswalk is a wonderful company and arranges a walking trip to perfection. We took two different trips with this company to the Blue Mountains and the Great Ocean Walk and enjoyed both of them tremendously. They were both unique experiences but Auswalk provided great places to stay with good food and excellent routes with very detailed directions. I would highly recommend this company.

I routinely spend my vacations doing point-to-point hikes with luggage transfer. I have previously used other travel agencies when doing the Coast-to-Coast walk in England, the West Highland Way in Scotland, the Westweg in Germany, the Rota Vicentina in Portugal, and the Tour du Mont Blanc in France/Switzerland/Italy. I have found Auswalk to match, or surpass, my experience with other agencies. The accommodations are all exceptional, the food was great (had no issue with me being a vegetarian), luggage transfer went smoothly, and the walking notes were quite explicit making it impossible to get lost. Also, their choice of routes in the Blue Mountains made sure you did not miss any of the spectacular sights.
The scenery of the Blue Mountains was more beautiful and spectacular than any of my previous trips (with the possible exception of the Alps on the TMB). Compared to the Alps, what you lose in snow-capped peaks you gain in tropical rain forests and stunning waterfalls and a valley reminiscent of the Grand Canyon (but with trees).
The Great Ocean Walk has scenery comparable to other coastal walks I have done (Coast-to-Coast, Rota Vicentina) but the animal sightings are incomparable. I have hiked a lot of Europe and seen very few animals larger than a marmot. On the GOW I saw many koalas, wallabies, kangaroos, and a tiger quoll (look it up). The large animal sightings rivaled the western National Parks in the USA. Also, if you are not an inhabitant of Australia, you will be amazed by the birds. The cockatoos, parrots, and other multicolored birds are spectacular for someone coming from North America or Europe.
Highly recommend using Auswalk for your hiking needs in Australia, and booking their trips to the Blue Mountains and GOW. I plan to return to Australia in the future and try some of their other walking routes

Have just done the Self-Guided Blue Mountains and it was fantastic. Lovely people at all of the accommodation places. Breathtaking views wherever we stopped. Auswalk kept us informed of a looming bushfire so we always felt safe. This is the second walk I have done with Auswalk and already planning the next.

This is the second self guided walk (Great Ocean walk last time) we have done with Auswalk. In both cases the organisation has been excellent, the accomodation has been great with an excellent choice of guest houses and restaurants and the walking routes well chosen varied, spectacular with enough challenge to make sure we really enjoyed our meals at the end of the day.

We have just completed our first Auswalks trip – Tropical Hiker. The walks were at times challenging but at all times enjoyable. The scenery was stunning, including beautiful tropical beaches at Cape Tribulation and around Mission Beach and Dunk Island, the Daintree Rainforest – where it feels like a privilege to be, and the Atherton Tableland – especially for anyone who likes lakes and waterfall!. Our guides Denise and Gavin were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and good company. We are looking forward to the opportunity to do another Auswalks trip.

We have just finished the self guided Blue Mountain Traverse. Loved it …..mostly. The hikes were excellent but we did not realize there would be so many stairs/steps/ladders down into the valley and back up. Although we are in our early 70’s we are avid walkers/hikers and are comfortable in walking in the Appalachians of the USA. But our local Virginia walks traverse the hillsides and switch back up and down hill. The Auswalk trip challenged our knees and leg muscles as we attacked the hundreds of stone steps, steel ladders, and exposed ups and downs. The only fault we lay on Auswalk is that they could have done a better job providing information on how strenuous portions of this walk could be. The scenery is brilliant. The route notes and maps are superb. Organization and arrangements were the best. Accomodations ( and the wonderful inn keepers) were top drawer in historic lodging in scenic locations. If you are in relatively good shape and know what you are getting into this is a wonderful way to get to know some parts of Australia that are unfamiliar to North Americans.

We used Auswalk to arrange our hike of the entire Great Ocean Walk. We could not have been more impressed. All of the accommodations were spectacular, especially the Great Ocean Ecolodge. All of our luggage transfers were seamless, and our pick up times were perfectly flexible. Auswalk provided us with an excellent package which included detailed annotated maps, and thankfully, head-nets (which we actually needed for one day of the hike). Everyone was wonderfully friendly, including the staff at Auswalk. We highly recommend using Auswalk and the Great Ocean Walk. Excellent value for money.
