Cape-to-Cape Track – 8 Days

Our walk of the Cape to Cape in WA, booked through Auswalk, was great. We shortened many of the walking days, due to age and afflictions, but saw all the main sights. The wildflowers were spectacular (late Spring). Accommodation was good, breakfasts were huge and delicious, and it was nice to have a pre-packed lunch. The scenery on the walk is amazing.

The attention to detail and the accommodation was exceptional. There was the need to communicate with Auswalk on a few occasions throughout the walk and we received replies and more importantly actions in an acceptable timeframe. All in all I loved the trip and cannot recommend Auswalk more highly.

Great infrastructure accommodation and the walk has some tough legs but the views are worth the pain.

Both Rose and Georgie were knowledgeable about the areas walked, including flora and fauna, they were supportive and super friendly, I never felt rushed and they were excellent company at meal times. I felt safe throughout the walk and the nightly preps for each days walk were very helpful. Excellent walk, the coastline and forest area was superb, a joy to visit and sense in this way. The walk was challenging and personally for me, the sand walks were hard but great sense of achievement once finished.

Very easy to get to Port Augusta and the car shuttle with the various transport providers worked well. The trip was fabulous. The catering, cafes and accomodation and trip notes were of a high order. We would highly recommend to friends.

Rose & Georgie were really great guides; their knowledge of the area was spot on, they kept us well informed, well fed and fun ladies to be with. Always professional too. The accommodation was incredible, the breakfasts and lunches for the first 7 days were fantastic. The dinners were enormous and only one course would have been more than sufficient but were delicious and in very nice restaurants. The snacks were delicious and well balanced to provide protein as well as carbs. Thank you for the thought and preparation that had gone into the trip. The distances were comfortable and the transport was excellent.

It was a beautiful stretch of coastline with a moderate to challenging difficulty, as advertised. It was a long walk, but handled so well by Auswalks for all walkers of varying ability in our group. We were briefed very well each day on the terrain, difficulty, shorter options, weather. The food was excellent as were the arrangements for meals, snacks, bus transfers, briefings and accommodation were also excellent. We liked having 3 nights without an arranged dinner so we could relax and rest. Exceptional walk, with great transport, accommodation and food. There is nothing more we could have wanted.

The Cape to Cape walk was seriously one of life's great experiences. From start to finish the journey was demanding, challenging, but immensely rewarding. We would recommend this walk to anyone who enjoys getting out in nature, pushing through some physical elements, meeting some wholesome people, and seeing up close some of the best coastline in the world. Throw in whales, dolphins, snakes, lizards, kangaroos, echidnas, abundant birdlife and heaps of native flowers, and the package is complete :)

The landscape and the track varied so there was always something interesting to look at. The wildflowers, creatures and scenery provided opportunities for everyone to become a talented photographer. There were plenty of opportunities for people to opt out of sections of the walk if they wanted to. Both guides were friendly, inclusive and knowledgeable.

I found my experience with the Cape to Cape walk a real treat. Along the route, the scenery was stunning, as was the wildlife. Even the whales slapped their tails to say G’day to us. The walk is doable (even for someone in their 70s). Although challenging at times, our motto was to take time to enjoy the journey. I'm looking forward to more experiences with AUSWALK.

This walk was life changing for me. I decided to do the walk solo and was so glad I chose this as I had to make decisions on my own. Was the most challenging experience I’ve ever had - both mentally and physically.

Our family of four had a fantastic time on the Cape to Cape walk. It was just the right amount of challenge. Auswalk were excellent in arranging all of the little details so we didn't have to worry about food, accommodation, transport or our luggage. The GPS on the app was invaluable.

A great walk in a beautiful part of Aus - hard in sections but lots of flexibility to change the distances with taxi or slight change to transfer times. Absolutely loved it!

Our group got to walk together for most of the day each day. The app is fantastic and made the walk easy and stress free. Accommodation and meals were great and we enjoyed seeing different areas of Margaret River.

We have done many many walking holidays. This was one of the best, walking holidays we have ever done. The Western Australian coastline and beaches between Cape Leeuwin and Capte Naturaliste are spectacular and the walking strenuous enough to justify the great food and wine we consumed along the way. The accommodation, organisation and navigational tools were all of a high standard. The various support crew that moved our bags were professional, friendly and unfailingly helpful. It was a fabulous holiday and we will certainly be booking further trips through Auswalks.

The whole process was incredibly well put together. The app was great. A really special shout out to the transfer drivers (Cy, Jye, Shane) who were just fantastic, they checked in on me to make sure everything was going okay and I really appreciated that.

It was very seamless. All of the drivers were professional, punctual and very courteous. They all provided good advice regarding the track and were very flexible regarding pickup and drop off times. Very well organized from A to Z. Every email was promptly addressed and answered, all our requests were followed up. Nothing was too much trouble, if we go walks again, we certainly will be looking at Auswalk first.

I was a bit nervous about being able to do this walk and through the great care, good sense of humour and encouragement of Georgie and Katie, my favourite guides ever, I was able to achieve my dream of walking the Cape to cape in WA. We did the Cape to Cape, self guided walk over 5 days. Everything was wonderful - the accommodation started great and kept getting better. The meals were plentiful and delicious, the transport was well organised and efficient with a great guide. The local businesses we used were well acquainted with Auswalk hikers, and everything was easy. The weather was terrible, but that wasnt Auswalks fault - and we did have options on our walk for diversions and early pick ups. Would hands down use Auswalks again! (And we will try to be a bit less last-minute with our booking next time too!).

My husband and I have done a number of organised self-guided walks across the world. We recently completed the Cape to Cape with AusWalk. It was our first time using AusWalk and I can honestly say it will not be our last. We were thrilled with everything. They are super friendly, very efficient and helpful and - most importantly - everything on the trip went exactly as planned. They did not miss any detail. Dietary requirements were passed on, Restaurant/cafe bookings were all made as advised, and the local companies they use are stand outs. The cafes and restaurants served divine food and were friendly. The local transport providers were absolutely brilliant! Cy, Ken and Jye honestly made the whole experience so seamless and painless - they helped with suggestions and were always going out of their way to accommodate pick ups to match our walking times. People we spoke to along the way all had glowing things to say about AusWalk. They have a great reputation, which is well deserved. I am excited to be booked for the 3 Capes walk with AusWalk next week and I look forward to using them again in the future.

We walked this in November & really enjoyed it. A bit too hot - would do it earlier next time. Auswalk arranged all our accommodation & transfers & most of our meals. Everything went well with very few issues. The places we stayed were very good and the transfer staff very welcoming & good with sharing information. They were also open to changes when we wanted to leave earlier due to the heat. The accommodation was comfortable and the meals very good. We also had a rest day in Margaret River which was a welcome break. Trip notes were comprehensive & pretty reliable. We would definitely consider Auswalk for future walks.

We have just returned and highly recommend this energetic walk in beautiful South West WA Varied and interesting terrain from towering Karri forest to coastal tracks teeming with wildflowers and wildlife. We could see whales and dolphins out in the ocean as we walked. Auswalk is a friendly efficient company and they arranged our transport, accommodation and food seamlessly

The overall experience was fantastic, from communication with the team during the planning phase - including multiple re-plans due to COVID to having everything taken care of during the walk. The information provided was comprehensive and easy to follow. The days were hard but rewarded with a great meal at the end.

Auswalk takes the pressure out of organising a walking trip.The Auswalk team are great and extremely helpful organising the trip, and ironing out any hiccups along the way. All accommodation and food is top notch. Highly recommend!

Dear Sanyana and Auswalk team Thanks for a wonderful holiday! Much appreciated. The best things, apart from your terrific organisation, the scenery and natural beauty, were Andrea’s genuine hospitality, care and home-cooked meal (a delicious lasagne) and the food at La Scarpetta and the Margaret River Bakery. The stay at Caves House was disappointing. Our room (W310) had a severely, sloping floor so the head of the bed was lower than the foot-end and the only way we could sleep was to move the pillows to the foot-end of the bed, the bed was also very small and the staff did not know that Auswalk had paid for our dinner or how much we could order so it took us 2 trips to the counter and >15mins to order our meal. The owner, Elizabeth Tilley (who knew nothing about Auswalk), came to speak with us after we had ordered and apologised about the absence of communication regarding the dinner arrangements but the whole place had a frenetic atmosphere with lots of staff walking around busily (often with no apparent purpose) which was not peaceful or relaxing, even though it was clear that everyone was trying their best. We did not tell her about the sloping floor or bed because we left early the next morning at 7am. The other 2 restaurants you booked us into were similarly busy, but staff knew about the Auswalk arrangement and the atmosphere was calm – staff were purposefully busy. I wonder if the other accommodation at Yallingup is better? The rooms would probably not have sloping floors! Despite that the holiday was great. Thanks again!

This was my first walk with Auswalk - a self guided Cape to Cape walk with 2 friends. From the initial enquiry to the last day of our walk it was an outstanding experience and so rewarding. The maps, book and self guided notes for each day were thorough and easy to read. Local information provided by Auswalk was also interesting and informative. Accommodation was of a very high standard and food including meals at the restaurants and cafes together with our packed lunches were exceptional. Walking from South to North was definitely wise with the wind always at our backs - Auswalk thought of everything!

Auswalk were extremely helpful in organising our self guided walk in W.A. we backed two walks together - the Bibbulmun Track followed by the Cape to Cape Walk. There was no detail left unattended. We just finished the 8 day Cape to Cape walk in Western Australia as a group of 9. It was a wonderful experience. The organising was excellent, the accommodation really lovely and the food amazing. We did a rest day on day 7 and had a wonderful (long) wine tasting and lunch at Howard's Park in the Margaret River - a fabulous experience too but not a lot of steps that day! We would definitely recommend AusWalk.

We were grateful of the Auswalks suggestion in relation to transport from Perth to Augusta (thanks Andy from Busselton & South West Rent a Car) and enjoy the variety of accommodation which was provided for us. The meals provided were great and more than we needed for each day. The booking process was made easy by our dealings with Tash and Sanyana of Auswalks and we would highly recommend booking with Auswalks again. I had organised this trip as a bit of a surprise for my sister and her husband so all was done with the required secrecy and the information packs which arrived in the mail before our walk were very detailed and well thought out. Hubby and I booked through Auswalks the self guided Cape to Cape walk in WA. Unfortunately day one my knee gave me grief walking in the sand, but the guys from Auswalks were fantastic. I rang them to let them know we couldn't continue walking the trail and I could only walk on flat ground. Instead of being picked up and dropped off each day they organised a driver to pick us up and take us back to where our car was located, so we could do our own thing. We continued staying at all of the accommodation that was already pre-booked and continued with the catered food for breakfast, lunch and some dinners. All of which were excellent! We especially loved staying in Augusta and Margaret River. Generally the accommodation was in spacious self contained apartments all in great locations. The only accommodation that wasn't spacious and self contained was one night at Caves House, we were glad it was only one night. We still managed to walk 80kms in 8 days walking some forest sections of the Cape to Cape as well as other flat trails and in this area there are no shortages of walks one can do in a day. Auswalks know their stuff, they are great with managing the whole trip from start to finish and any other requirements that's needed, especially unplanned! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these guys, they are professional, organised and give great customer service.

From beginning to end the whole trip was meticulously organised by Auswalk, we didn't have to worry about a thing, they certainly paid great attention to every detail from the pick up to the drop off. The accomodation was varied. We stayed in 3 places, the first night average and subsequent nights excellent. The walking was at times challenging which created a cohesiveness within the group. The guides were encouraging and enormously attentive with great knowledge and enthusiasm. If you've never been on a walking holiday and even if you have we definitely recommend Auswalk.

I've just returned home after completing the Auswalk self-guided Cape to Cape walk in WA. It was amazing!!! The walk itself is brilliant - while long (135kms over 7 days of walking) it was not too challenging and the coastal views, magnificently coloured waters, wild beaches... loved it all! And Auswalk organised it all magnificently. While we felt 'alone', it was great to know that someone was 'keeping an eye' on us, and that at the end of each day transport was waiting for us to take us to, or we walked directly into, extremely comfortable and welcoming accommodation. Food along the way was excellent too! This was my second self-guided walk with Auswalk; I am already planning my next one! I highly recommend this extremely helpful, reliable and personable company: I wouldn't consider another company after the two great experiences I've had with them.

We did the 8 day option in November (including a rest day in Margaret River- highly recommended!). We were very lucky to have loads of wildflowers still blooming and pretty good weather - 2 hot days, 2 days with a bit of rain and wind. The walking is beautiful and achievable despite some soft sand beaches that are tough. The organisation by Auswalk is top notch, accommodation and food very good to excellent. An all round excellent holiday

Recently completed the Cape to Cape walk in Western Australia with Auswalk. Over 8 days we walked 135km. 2 Guides assisted the group of 19 people of varying levels of fitness. This was my first real hike and I totally enjoyed the walk and was very happy with the guides who were always ready to assist in any way to ensure the walk was a success for everyone. They even arranged a fun evening the last night handing out fun awards.

Our holidays always involve walking and as we are getting older we want to do it comfortably. Having done two walks with Auswalk ( Cape to Cape and Blue Mtns) we are happy to say they compare well with the best of the similar UK walking holidays . If anything accommodation better! The weather definitely is! Booking online was a delight with quick responses with one person. We value the self guided option - walking notes were good and up to date, hosts friendly and accommodating.

AUSWALKS is a great walking company. I recently completed Cape to Cape inWestern Australia. It was a wonderful holiday. this company runs like a well oiled machine and always at the heart of their administration is the care and welfare of their walkers. There were 16 walkers in a group ... In a very short time we had a great connection. Food and accommodation was great and the coast scenery breath taking. Well done!

Last October my husband and I joined others on the Great Ocean Walk organized by Auswalk. Every aspect of the trip, from initial inquiries to final steps, were superb. Since we live in the U.S. and had never walked in Australia, we count ourselves lucky to have found Auswalk. We had wonderful guides and the walk, itself, was as beautiful as predicted.

We did the unguided cape to cape in WA just after Easter - group of 4. The trip notes were well detailed and very comprehensive. Accommodation was of a high standard and provided meals were excellent. The scenery was so diverse, magnificent coastal views every day and we met a lot of friendly people along the daily treks. We took the option of a rest day at day 7 and spent the day in Margaret River, visiting the caves and Voyager winery for a fabulous lunch. Body was tired, so the rest day was welcomed and revived us for the rest of the walk. Would highly recommend Auswalks - they looked after every detail.

The Great Ocean Walk is iconic for a reason - the scenery is ever changing and spectacular. The countryside was full of surprises each day and there was massive variety along the walk, always on well marked tracks. Very few people so a real wilderness experience. The Auswalk guides were fantastic, professional, great fun, experienced and extremely knowledgable and passionate about the area. Everyone was encouraged to walk at their own pace, and if needed there was a 'pull out' point each day. There was plenty of info along the way without being intrusive. The meals at restaurants, and those prepared by the guides, were all superb and the accomodation was great - hot showers and comfortable beds were very welcome each night. Staying at the Cape Otway Lighthouse was a highlight! Fabulous experience - thoroughly recommended Auswalk and I will walk with them again!
